Anyone think we need a few more "characters" for the Naps? How about Lord Hill, Picton, Captain Mercer, Gen Donop, D'Erlon, Reille, etc.

Have you seen the Hachette napoleonic marshalls line sculpted by K&C? It also includes some of the generals also. They are not available in the states but you can find them on ebay here and there. They come with a booklet like the delprados but its written in french but most ebay sellers don,t include the book with the figure anyway but the figures are nice, some much better then others though.

Fish-

Is the line that includes Marshall Ney? I would love to pick his figure up but the few times I have checked them out they were a bit steep with shipping. I

I would love a line of Napoleon's Marshals and some of the other notable characters of the era.

The Ney figure was the one that kicked the line off and seems to be the one thats most commonly found on ebay and yes the shipping is steep from most of the sellers on there coming from europe because most of them ship by airmail but some will send surface mail (by ship) if asked, this takes longer to arrive but is half the price.

I found a seller that had some of these at a real good price with good shipping prices and also combined my shipping to save me even more so I picked up about a dozen or so from this seller but he never posted any more. I found a few other here and there at a desent price and picked a few more but like you said the shipping is killer and brings the figures into the $30 plus price range per figure at best lately if your lucky,so you,ll have to just keep your eye on ebay and watch for deals.

The figures are real nice though and are painted much better then the Del Prado figures and the sculpting is great on most of the figures but some are not so great also and look a bit corny but if you pick and choose there are some great figures to be had in this line.

Here are a few pictures of the ones I picked up. I,ve got more but I didn,t want to clutter the scene and some of them just didn,t fit in like general beauharnais figure in winter gear holding a musket wich is one of my favorite poses in the line.

If you want a nice matte line for just the French Marshalls Tradition has a great line but they are somewhat pricey and 90mm size. I would like to see K&C do some 54mm divisional/regimental commanders for both sides. Maybe they could do small 2/3 figure sets like Wellington with one his aides like D'Lancey, (think thats how its spelled:confused:).

My personal vote would be for Black Bob Crauford of the Light Division!! from the Peninsular War. Although Picton at Waterloo would be a close second.

For your interest, I already have a fine figure of Earl Uxbridge made by Tinbay. Its magnificent in his Hussar's uniform. Tinbay make a British staff including Maitland, Pack and Ponsonby, all mounted. They also have a range of Napoleon's Staff that looks quite extensive.

Tinbay figures are more finely detailed but also more expensive the K&C. I buy Tinbay Napoleonics to fill in missing gaps in the K&C range. They fit together quite well and are indistinguishable in size.

Fishy (Tim) ;)

That is a GREAT DIORAMA - WOW !

Man - I love it and I am very envious  - wish I had that in my collection.

Great set up - and love the Hachette Figures ! They are hard to find - but, do come up on Ebay every now and then. I think I might try to start picking them up - but, shipping is serious $$.

Tim - where did you get the Tent from?

Ron

I picked the tent up at Target department store on clearance for $5.98, its by a company called Schleich and is meant for there larger scale knights I believe??? but if you,ve ever seen photos of napoleonic staff tents I think the scale works pretty well and is vert similar looking to what the french used on campaign.
Here,s a better shot of the tent so you can see it better. I think it looks pretty cool and at $6 bucks was a pretty good deal.

Tim--that's not a good deal--it's an amazing deal!
That tent retails for $24 (Treefrog picked the line up last month) and as a dealer I pay way more for mine than you did. Apparently Target's Schleich offerings get lost in the shuffle of their Bionicles, Polly Pockets, Barbies and whatever else lines their toy shelves and don't get marketed properly to the right audience so they cleared them out.
Here's the link to the tent if you're interested Ron:

It's 1:20 scale handpainted plastic and I guess it needs no further description with Tim's excellent dio photo to speak for it.
Regards,

Ron, Have you tried ebay UK?
Still won't help the shipping prices, but you may find more available over this side of the water.

Thanks !

I just ordered the tent and a few dead and dying Coldstream guys. I need something for my MIGHTY FRENCH CUIRASSIERS to run over ! :D

Don't you mean a sunken road for them to fall in:D. Post a pic of the tent when you get it set up:). Just another Nap idea but what about Napoleons carriage he travelled in while on campaign? My Chasseurs need something to escort.
