Do you have any of the Brits? I have a few of these sets, but this line hasn't grabbed me like the French-Indian figures.

Very Nice! I figured if I started collecting Jenkins figures I would start with this range because they are very nice looking for one. Also there is not a whole lot of them like the other ranges so you wouldn't have to rush to buy them. And I have always been interested in the war of 1812. But the French and Indian figures are also very nice so I have to think about this first. :)

I haven't gotten to the British Troops yet. I have been taking this range slowly - allowing for Christmas, Birthday, Valentine's, etc, etc ....

I will start buying these more regular soon. Although with the new BM Wagon Master and Artillery Limber - I keep playing catch up with the BM series - I still need a horseman and few other troops.

And even worse is those darn HIGHLANDERS ! Got to have them too ! :D

They do appear to be nice. How does the size of these (height / bulk) compare with other majors like K&C and Britain?

The 1812 RedCoats are amongst the K&C Coldstream Guards .. I must add that they fit together very well. Can't wait to have all the rest of JJD's Redcoat sets :)

Sweet collections Ron and Dragoon,

I'm hoping to set up a diorama and get some photos posted this weekend on my 1812's.

Those are BM's behind them on the table, not 1812's, I'm not using them.

Those are QB's behind the 1812 Brits, I may use them.

Lots of good stuff you have on that table ;)

War of 1812 - is a great range - I have to move my buy list up a little for the British Troops - right now my guys are shooting in the air !

Look forward to seeing your diorama skills again ! :)

Ron, your guys look great.

All soldiers need a little target practice.:D

There are only 3 sets of Brits now (BCH1, 2 and6.)

One of each would be a good start.

Don't forget to pre order BCH11.

This is from an email from John a few days ago.

"I'm looking forward to the Chippewa pictures, I'm quite proud of this little series. All the British "Royal Scots" are sculpted , but will be released slowly throughout this year. Artillery and cavalry will be 2010."

Sound like you got plenty of time with a lot of stuff in the future coming, and yours look very cool posed in front of the stockade.

Personally, I think his USCH are his best figures to date.

I needed to update my pics from below - I got the Officer and Drummer for Valentine's Day - here they are:

You get Valentine Gifts of Toy Soldiers from the Wife!!??

You're top man, I must get my Mrs and Mistress on the case. Splendid collection by the way - I collect the FIW stuff, just love it!

We also give each other Easter Baskets from my personal friend - The Easter Bunny ! :D ( He likes to be called - "EB" - by the way ;) )

Some new Old Guard figures for the Napoleon HQ diorama ! :)

Capitolron and mikemiller, great looking collection of figures. I like the colors also. I don't have anything having to do with the War of 1812. I hope to have some in the near future.

The War of 1812 - is a GREAT range to get started with on John Jenkins. I believe all the releases at this time are 500 sets - which gives you plenty of opportunity to collect them. And the figures are just great !

There are many of folks who have started to collect JJD this year to find the early sets are long gone - this is one range I recommend for those who want a fresh start and be able to get them all. :)

Ron

Nick,

Not only is Chippawa readily available.

I think the USCH are John's best work.

As per him, speaking of the Brit's of 1812, "I'm quite proud of this little series.", gave me the impression it was his favorite.

I still haven't warmed up to this one. The American uniforms are a bit drab and the battle is a strange one to select. Hopefully some releases will spice things up.

Give it another look Combat,

I really think it's his best detailed stuff yet.

I know, that you know the history of the drab grey uniform tops and the West Point tradition,

but past the color,

the detail on the back pack straps,

the "US" painted twice so crisply on the packs,

the intricate mechanisms on the rifle

all the way down to the dirt on their knees and cuffs, it's a really nice job.

If you have not held one in your hand, I'm not sure you can really appreciate the craftsmanship in it.

Just my opinion, not pushing for a debate with anybody.

Honestly, it's my favorite battle of his yet, well, maybe after the Battle of Monongahela.

Anyway, just my opinion,

Michael

Combat,

Not knowing if you own any of the USCH,

I took the liberty of taking some close-ups for you.

These should show some the detail, that I think is so nice.

The photos on the websites are good, but these are a little closer,

Michael
