Spent a little time at the EAA museum in Oshkosh today and thought I'd share some photos of warbirds on permanent display there. Great venue for warbirds enthusiasts, especially at their annual expo/fly in in late July-early August, which I am guessing some of you aviation enthusiasts on the forum have attended in past. I have photos of a 1943 Supermarine Spitfire, Dehavilland Mosquito, North American P51, broken down Messcherschimtt? with cockpit control details and for those that like their warbirds old school, a repro Nieuport Huntley 11 and Fokker DR1 Triplane.

Wow, those are fantastic, love the Spit and the Mosquito. Is Oshkosh a mecca for flying. Had no idea. Do you have any front view versions of the Mosquito?

Let's put it this way, Oshkosh is to flying as Detroit is to cars. Do a search for "Oshkosh flyin" and see what you get. This link is great http://airventure.org/ :)

Yes Brad, Michael is absolutely correct. The permanent museum has a small but nice collection, but the fly in is massive with a huge Warbirds show daily. I have seen up to 3 B-17's flying in formation there along with a dozen or more Mustangs and countless other beauties, i.e. Avenger, T-6's (they sound great), B-24 and 25's, P40's, etc...

Also on display in the permanent collection is a B17, B25, P38, another P51 and T6 though was not able to get decent photos of those today. It is only approx 15 minutes from here so we go there often to wander around.

Sorry, I thought I had a front on view of the Mosquito, but I was mistaken.

Wow! Thanks for the amazing photos of the real thing! Makes me appreciate my 1:32 scale warbirds even more. Loved the Mark IX Spitfire, the Mossie, and the Corsair! Great stuff!!
