Hi All,

Need some help with information on the company Warwick Miniatures LTD?They appear to have made soldiers in the 1980s. I am trying to answer a question on them and have no information on them. Does anyone have any source data (catalogues etc) on the company and the figures produced?

Thanks for the help

Dave

I did a google of Warwick Miniatures and only came up with a dollshouse site. They do make a couple of different toy soldiers but in 1/12th scale. It also says the are part the Phoenix Models group.

Hi,

I found that information too but thought it was merely a new company or new version of the one I am seeking information on. They did very nice looking sets in glossy paint that look similar to Tradition.

Anyone else have any information on this company I would be greatful

Wrong Warwick. I have at least twenty of these "lego people sets". They are cute and ugly. They have moved and are now Hampton Miniatures. Range is much more limited. They do not answer inquiries. As I have attempted several times for info. Catalogs do exist. Gniesenau has one somewhere but can not seem to locate it. They are so ugly that they are cute!

Hi KV

I do believe you have them correctly identified. Now that I relooked your photos in the earlier thread! Thank you sir!

As always I am amazed by the depth of knowledge floating around here.

Thanks again KV

All the best

According to Greg they actually made a wide range of figures. I think they are fun. I have some ceremonial ACW and ARW and some weird Irish Legion. I think they are actually Austrian . They have Black stove pipe hats and a bit of green on them.

Dave: I had a catalog and will look for it. Was this company in New England? I have a small color catalog but it is not in my file. John

The World Encylopedia of Model Soldiers by John Garratt 1981.

Warwick Miniatures Ltd. ( William P. Treacy Jr.) Portsmouth, New Hampshire 1974- ? Maker of Britains style models. Designed by himself, sold individually painted or as castings, and in boxes of five or six figures. Of variable Quality: In one cavalryman seen the man is far too large for the horse.

I looked at his figures at shows years ago. The painting was nice but the figures seemed boxy or too square for me. I never bought any. Leadmen

Hi John,

Can you give me an ISBN for that Encylopedia? I could use one

Thanks for the help with this.

All the best

Dave

Dave: I bought my book at Chicago Show room trading a few years ago. I don't think it is in print.
