It's June of 2005 and Duncan McNear a Waterloo re-enactor with the 42nd Highland Black Watch from Edinburgh surveys the Belgian battlefield where two of his ancestors fought Napoleon's forces 190 years ago on June 18, 1815.

Randy,
Perfect snap! Background blends into fore, shadowing correct, everything perfect, except they canceled the June '05 re-enactment, didn't you hear?:p

Randy, very simple, but just perfect shot. Very impressive.

Wonderful use of background prints and excellent photography Randy. Love the Britains civil war tent and the K&C chair and barrell. Looking forward to seeing more of your work :)

Great image Randy!
I went to the 1990 re enactment at Waterloo with a unit representing the 33rd Regt of Foot and had a great time forming a square on the rise just above the Hougomont farm.
As a side note, our NCO for that unit has a very busy professional life and he, unlike me, writes everything down in a day planner so he be where he needs to be on the right day.
There was a big event here in the US we were all planning on attending. We all chatted about it off and on for months leading up to it, and this fellow stated that he would have to drive there alone because of his schedule.
Exactly a week before we were to arrive at the site I got a call...'Well I guess I got here a bit early!" My friend had written down the wrong weekend in his day planner and arrived at the event all alone!
...I guess this could be your fellow from the 42nd!
Ken

Thank you all.

I'm having as much fun playing with the Museum Collection figures as the Lt. has playing with his Zulus :)
