Charging right into the cannons, very courageous. Good action scene, enhanced by covering the bases. Robin.

Ditto Robins comments, Greg and also add that you've had a good idea with the background as to me it
conveys a scene of the Scots Greys emerging though the smoke of the cannons. Well done ! :salute::

Very well done Sapper. I also like the base covering and wonder what base you're using to accomplish this.

Nice diorama! Thanks for sharing. I hope that K&C revisits their Guard artillery some day. That set was retired before I started collecting K&C Napoleonics.

Think you are using some of those inexpensive French figures, 7 of which I bought last week at $25 each. They are as every bit of good as my other figures and help bulk out an army at a cheaper cost. I used eBay y-weido seller, check them out really well done, happy to have them in my collection. Bought 3 times from this seller, really good service, free shipping. Robin.

I really like the idea (and effect) of viewing the charge from behind the cannon. Makes me wonder if you could integrate "Scotland Forever" into the scene via a backdrop:

Scotland_Forever!.jpg

You'd have to resize/enlarge the pic a bit...and that trooper in front might have to be edited out...and perhaps add a little sky... but the result could be quite interesting.

Thankyou gents for the responses and likes. This is the first of three dioramas that I will do and they are made to a size that can be put in my cabinets.
The next two will be slightly bigger with more figures but the second won't be completed until midyear as I have more projects in construction.
In answering your question Joe, the base is a grasslike compound bought from a hobby store. I beleive it's a German brand called Heki Kittler in dark green
shade. As for your suggestion Moe about doing a backboard with the Scotland Forever theme, I did think about it but was worried about the scale. Iam very
interested now after seeing that great picture you posted and will probably go ahead with that. I will post some photos If I do.
Two extra photos. Regards Greg.

Great scene! Some very brave French infantrymen moving forward into a charge of heavy cavalry.I think I'd be moving in the other direction or sheltering behind the guns.Well done that man.

Greg, thanks and have heard of them and will check their site. Also, I 2nd Moe's idea for a background pic. I used different pics for my backgrounds on four sides of 2 large dios. I would show you on the forum diorama area, but Photo Bucket removed them. Still haven't decided on an alternative fix for that..............Joe.

Here's a downsized version of a modified "Scotland Forever" graphic:

SF5.jpg

I resized the lead trooper, moved him rearward, and shortened the foreground.

A larger format version (with more data; about 24 inches wide) can be found here:

https://s18.postimg.org/tb84j69xl/SF4.jpg

The forum UI cut off the end of the pic; it's actually wider than it appears above.

To see the whole enchilada, right-click on the pic and select "view image."

Were I going to use this in a display, I think that I'd lower that front hoof to a position right above the base or mat.

The more TS that are set up in front of it, the better.:D

I can see the terror in the eyes of the French gunners, already, through the backs of their heads!;)

Thankyou Moe for your kind help . I will give it a go and will post photos when i'm finished. Regards Greg.

Glad that Moe has worked that out for you Sapper. I know you're going to be very pleased with the outcome..............Joe
