They are some great sets. Too bad Britains stopped that series. they stopped making Durbar and WW1 glossy and came out with Knights of The Round Table and the Americana series. That's when things went bad. Thankfully things have really turned around with Britains.

Hi Guys,

Yes indeed those were dark days for the Republic...

I really hope they do some more Indian Army and maybe some Colonials for the VC Line and The Mutiney Line. I would also love to see a bunch of things for the Northwest Frontier. But I really hope they produce a limited edition band for the Durbar. Well we can hope right!

All the best

Dave

very true ,I,m still a little disapointed all the new ww 1 stuff is matte finish
I have a reasonable gloss ww 1 collection at this point so I,m having to
find other mfg to expand the collection.
Friends of mine who know nothing about toy soldiers still refer to my entire
collection as Britains [although thier is a number of different brands] so
its great to see what must be the most famous brand name in toy soldiers
being re juvinated.

Those are all great pictures. The premier range was outstanding. It was 2004/2005 when Britains imploded. I wonder if they ever sold a set ot the Round Table. It was the only set I ever saw where if I had been offered it for free I would not have taken it. I also miss the gloss WWI stuff and the Delhi Durbar. I agree a limited edition Delhi Durbar band would be wonderful. As I have said before I miss the gloss soldiers. Matt is great but there is a disticnt charm in gloss

Not to worry Dave, I have plenty of clear coat gloss. I can get more for your guys too!:D

Here is a shot of one of my favourite britains ltd edition sets,
when I first got back into collecting I bought a fair few of these,
I have since sold all but a couple of my favourites.
I think its a great concept though and wish they wolud come out
with a few more like this ,rather than just endless marching bands.

Hi Rob and Damain,

Both of you have posted pictures of beautiful sets. I am very, very impressed with them. I think they are amazing figures and I wish I had the same sets in my collection. Thanks for posting the pictures!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Hi Damian
The mountain battery is a great looking set [a toy soldier classic imo]
I wish with the vickers set they had made more companion sets,
I only know of 2 others made by britains a walking cyclist and a 4.5 howitzer
with the crew wearing the Wearing the pith helmits[for ww 1].

Thanks pat ,just remember the further you stray into the unknowns
of toy soldier collecting the less your Durbar budget will be.
But I love your collecting stradigy ,I certainly understand why
people only collect one brand but with so much great stuff out
their variety is the spice of life :)

cheers Rob

Just got these this week - Ft Henry Guard

I would prefer glossy WWI too. Have you checked out Fusilier Miniatures?

Hi Viriato
sorry I missed this post ,I havent checked out fusilier
thanks for the heads up .I will be sure to have a look
for them on the good old internet.
I have been adding to my ww1 lately with trophy stuff
which is a great match for britains premier and Charles Biggs
original premier Range.
