Below is a photo of painted plastic West Point Cadets that i collected as a boy in the 1950s, most likely from a five and dime store (e.g. Woolworth's) They are stamped made in Germany on the bottom. Does anyone know anything about them--for example maker? They are a hard plastic.
Would they be Elastolin?

I'm afraid I can't help you with the manufacturer, but you do keep coming up with these gems. They look in fantastic condition, very nice.

They are made by Marx company under Warriors of the World label in hard plastic. Marx made them in Europe and the US in the fifties- sixties. They also made individual figures that came in little boxes like a West Point cadet named Bill Burns. They made wwll figures and allies, Germans etc. The indians, cowboys, Vikings, Romans and most figures Marx made in soft plastic. The Cadets are the same as in the picture. I have three of them. They can still be found at shows but a set would be hard to come across. Nice picture. Leadmen

Thank you Leadman. I had lots of Marx toys as a child. That's where my love of dioramas came from. I had Roy Rogers Western Town, Rin-Tin-Tin Fort Apache, Alamo, and Knights and Castle set among others-one each Christmas that my Dad set up under our tree. He told me later that his fingers got sore from bending the metal tabs on the buildings. I just searched Marx WOW and found this photo on the web including one of the West Point Cadets.
Randy (I also had a pirate set in the WOW format)
