Hey Guys,

Over the past few months, I've been admiring some of the Medieval/castle-related dioramas on the forum. I've always liked knights and related-fantasy elements, as I played D&D in my youth. Not sure if any of you are familiar with Playmobil's Steck System but it was their castle construction system. I recently broke out some old Playmobil castle sets combining them to built a large custom castle (looks smaller in the image due to the angle). Some slight photo-editing would provide the black and yellow colors that I needed.

What Came Next?

With a castle, knights would follow. Starting a new theme always takes some time (and money). I was really impressed with the color scheme of these black & yellow Nottingham men-at-arms so in process of starting a new collection. Love the figure detailing!

Here's a small dio I shot over the weekend with a few of the new figures and older scenic pieces. I know the figures have been out several years, but I'm often late in collecting a new theme.

More to come as WesternOutlaw goes Medieval!

Nicely done Rob. Looking forward to seeing you have some fun setting up some scenes of days of Olde, when knights were Bold etc !

Additional knights/men-at-arms continue to move into the new castle posting their ornate banners:

A sleepy little cottage rests somewhere in the forest where it is rumored that a venerable old mage practices his trade...

All reminds me of the old Robin Hood series with Richard Greene. I can hear the theme tune running through my head now !

Hey Steve,
I must admit that aside from the story of Robin Hood, I didn't grow up with the series or remember the old movie(s). Just recently, I watched one of the classic films for the first time. Great stuff though, and I can certainly understand the charm.
