From a recent email from John:

"The Whaleboat is still in development. It was interesting to read all the feedback from the picture on Treefrog and from e-mails. It really helped as I have decided to consider the release of a version without crew, as was suggested. This should enable me to keep the price down as I can make a larger run of the boat etc. Its also a large piece and will eat up my monthly production quota very quickly, so may have to produce it over several months. As you know there are many factors to consider in producing such an item to balance everything regarding quality, price and production."

great, i always wanted the Indians on the whaleboat..

maybe Jenkins can sell the the boat and two different crews (one indians the other the original cast) separately?

Thanks for the update. Good to hear that John reads the forum. It sounds like this could be an end of the year or even next year release. I know a lot of collectors prefer removable figures, but for the boat I may go with fixed to avoid having them topple over. At least we may have the option to decide.

I think even if you can get the boat with figures they would be removable. It would be very hard to package it with fixed figures without a much greater chance of breakage.I prefer the ship and maybe 2 sets of figures. It would be much more affordable for people.

That is very exciting news - you could use that Whale Boat in many different dioramas with K&C and other figures.

I also like the the idea of figures which are moveable in the Whale Boat - it allows you more freedom to work with different poses.

Look for to them all ! :D

Any update from Chicago on the new line or whaleboat? Capt. Ron and I stand prepared to waterboard holdouts for information.

LOL - Well if we are going to close Guantanamo Bay - we might as well put this equipment to good use !

Now who wants to talk !
