Yo Troopers, have to share this one with you I am ecstatic about it. Had to push the boat out to get it, because its so special. Its the first model of the Mounted Blues & Royals sculptured by Chas Stadden in 1981, and sent to the HQ of the Household Cavalry for verification that the model was correct in uniform and colour. Brigadier S C Cooper Commander of the Household Cavalry issued a certificate from them to Chas Stadden to the effect the model was correct in every detail, quite a bit of history. I don't know if Chas did this with all his models before issuing them for sale to the public, yet to confirm this, but really pleased to have it in the collection.
Only bought it 30 minutes ago so the photo's are taken from the listing.
Bernard.

Forgot to add its one of the large Mounted like the QOH Drum Horse in my albums.

That's a great find Bernard and nice to have the certificate as well. Looking forward to some pics when you receive it.

Good hunting, trooper! A peripheral like that certificate is invaluable, when included in a collection. How often does a collector come across something like that? Again, a great catch!

Prost!

Bernard,

Rather impressive model! As your Stadden collection is quite large now - where do you keep them all?

Jeff

Btw, I didn't realise you were in the Navy? :D

lol, Dont tell anyone, but I was in the Sea Cadets as a lad and our HQ was a real MTB moored in the Docks. Always wanted to be a Sailor but when I applied at 15 years old the training school Ganges was full so Joined the Junior Leaders Regt RAC instead, and became a Hussar:D. So should have said had to push the Tank out:eek:lol.
Had to box some sets to make room in the cabinets. The Stadden collection is taking over, but they are so good they have to be shown. The one thing about Chas Stadden models is they are perfect in detail & colour for the Regiment the models were made for. Chas was a real perfectionist for detail.
I got so carried away waiting for this auction last night forgot I had bid on another one, which I got for buttons.

DIDN'T HAVE TO PUSH THE BOAT OUT FOR THIS GREATEST OF ALL SAILORS.
:p.

PS, hope big Ron doesn't see this, believe he gave his hero's fleet a bit of a pasting and never lost a ship.;).

Yo Troopers, very pleased to be able to show off this model that arrived today. Its the First Blues & Royals Mounted 90mm made by Chas Stadden, and sent to the Household Cavalry for verification as to correctness of Uniform & colour. I did not know Chas did this with his models, until this piece of history came with it. A certificate issued by the Household Cavalry for the model, it measures 8 1/2" x 8 3/4",to me its unique to own this model. Its also beyond me how Chas painters were able to put so much detail on the Trumpeters Standard its the size of a postage stamp. MOUNT UP.
Bernard.

Very nice Bernard, a great addition to your collection. And nice to have the certificate to go along with it.

Glad to hear the figure arrived safely, Bernard!

How about a picture of the whole collection so far, or do you have any posted in your gallery? I'll have to take a look over there.

Prost!

Amazing acquisition, Bernard!!! Congrats!!:cool::cool:

Congratulations. It is always special to have some history with a rare piece. The certificate gives it it's provenance. Enjoy

And as Maddadicus said yesterday, it meets your collection criteria "glossy, red and on horses" :D
