I had a pretty good selction under the tree!! picked up the German observation team, 2 individual Germans, and 3 individual Russians for a total of 6 new sets! so now my birthday is in January hoping there is more to come, Thanks to Matt and my lovely wife Beth for the great suprises today!!...Sammy

Sammy, I had a pretty good one myself, with a tally of six sets plus a gift certificate, not a bad haul. I picked up a few of the Gordon Highlanders, a couple of the Russian Grenadiers and the mounted ADC (which is a very impressive piece). All this on top of receiving three days ago, three ACW figures (which again are fantastic,) it has been a FL "frenzy" at my place recently...Bring on 2011!!!...cheers, Alby

I only had 1 First Legion French infantry before. I picked up 6 new figures from that set, a Crusader with spear, Gordon's Kings Colors flag bearer, and AWI firing militiaman. I am extremely impressed with all of the figures. I am not sure which series I like best yet - I have a feeling liking them all is going to cost me, but I will definitely buy more of all the series. It was a good First Legion Christmas, and I am hooked.

As for me, I got the last two AWI militia I still didn't have, then a good amount of cash for some of the upcoming 5th Foot Grenadiers. Now, I just need to decide which 5 or 6 grenadiers to preorder first. As you know, that can be hardest part!

It must feel great to have all the militia. I will have my first 2 when the drummer arrives, and I think they are terrific. If you had to name 4 favorites, could you? I am trying to determine what to buy next. I am leaning toward the color bearer, officer with sword, and a couple more firing poses.

Well, that is a tough question. The color bearer is one that I just got today and it is impressive. The detail on the evergreen is very nice. Of course, you can't go wrong with the Colonel Prescott figure, and I'm not saying that just cause it is my profile pic. If you force me to choose, I would say these three:

I think they add a nice variety of dress, color, and pose to a small firing group. Of course, you know the best thing to do is to buy the whole series!

Well done on finishing up the militia, personally I have just recently dabbled in FL, so I am along way from getting where you are. As you have said that choosing you next acquisition of Grenadiers can be the hardest part, but also a little enjoyable at the same time. Cheers, Alby

Thanks!! That helps. That is why I started with the guy firing, wearing sort of a blue outfit - color. I plan to guy at least 10 and even more of the British. The militia have to be out-numbered you know.

Alby, you know once you start to 'dabble' in First Legion, you will be hooked! I'm glad to have finished up the militia, but there are many people with collections of First Legion that are a lot larger than mine. I do like to have a full set though, and hope to complete each release that eventually comes out for the AWI. I think we might see 1 or 2 new big releases in 2011.

Well, the militia don't have to be outnumbered! But either way, enjoy building up the collection. I am very happy with each of them.

Bill, you know you are just putting off the enevitable. Sooner or later, First Legion is going to get your money, whether it is with some Rifles or one of your other Peninsula Campaign favorites.

I got two Crusader pieces, The Hospitaler swinging the Axe, And Hospitaler with the pike. I guess I forgot to mention to my Family, Templar would be prefered. But it does look great!!. And I am keeping it ( I guess two lost Hospitalers in a band of Templars. is not so bad. Unless they start something).
