So, what does the new year bring?

Hopefully, besides Liverpool winning the Premiership and the Champions League final (again).

Presently. I collect World War II and Napoleonics and so will probably be concentrating in the first few months on my KGL and British Highlanders. With no WWII coming out until possibly the summer ( I don't collect the desert stuff - however the new AK halftrack and artillery look superb - seen in London) I may even start building up my French infantry.

Does anyone know what kind of WWII figures are coming out from summer onwards? I have it on various sources that there will be a "Pegasus Bridge" series and from another a "Eastern Front" series.

Of course, there is going to be more Napoleonics, ( British Foot Guards and Horse artillery - Big Pretty Please) and so that looks like where my hard-earned sterling is going.

Has anyone started collecting the WWII figures from The Old Northwest Trading Co? I've seen the figures online and in magazines, but missed them in London. Are they good quality? They look okay. There is also the fact that they might look good with my Frontline village.

Happy Christmas and have a great New Year.

Hi uk Bod.Spoke to Andy at the show in London and he told me that the "Pegasus bridge" line would be put on hold next year in favour of the Eastern front sets that will be coming out in the summer(sept?).Although hopefully we will still get the Brit Paras at some point in the future. He also said the d-day range would continue as it is so popular and i believe we will be getting a battle damaged panther from that series.Your so right about the AK sets coming out, they look real good and have convinced me to start collecting that range.Best wishes to all on this site for a great xmas and a fantastic 2006.Rob.

Well, it looks like my team, Arsenal, is out, way out of the race. Well, as they say in Brooklyn, wait till next year.

I think the Old Northwest would go nicely with the Frontline village as those are true 54s and don't work with K & C. I frankly don't like the the Old Northwest figures (the poses, the expressions) but since they're a new company you need to give them the benefit of the doubt.

What will be exciting next year is Honour Bound. They will be producing 60 mm figures and vehicles. It will be interesting to see how they compare and complement K & C.

Merry Christmas and a good holiday to all.

Thanks Rob, I think I can definately say that the Panther would be an addition to my collection.

So Russia it will be, hopefully set 44-45, and will include a Josef Stalin 2, Russian artillery, German artillery and a Panther. ( I know two in one year is being greedy).

I've already decided (haven't told the wife) that Tracy (Wife) will be given Cleopatra, a couple of associated sets and the dancers (dangerous) as a gift sometime next year. If only I could convince her that an addititional DUKW, Sherman and US infantry would look good on her dressing table. ( She is deeply into Egyptian History and mythology - If only it was the Great Patriotic War and the Battle of the Bulge this year).

Did anyone at the London show go to the Britains stall and see the repainted old Deetail Civil War figures (Brought a tear to my eye, guess what my six year old is getting next year?), they looked outstanding, and included a decent paint job up to a average metal standard. I have only got a couple of Britains Hold the Line series infantry and a number of little legion Zulus and casualties (excellent figures) for an Isandhlwana scene, but that may change with these and the quality of their up and coming products.

Further afield, I have a large collection of Conte Civil War ( the new sets, Irish, General Lee, Armistead and General Meagher are simply breathtaking) and Alamo figures. (This includes all the Plastic Conte Alamo Playsets, which me and the little one have endless epic fights over) The new WWiII figures from Conte look interesting, especially the dioramas and landing craft.

I haven't heard much about honour bound and the other, British Commando ( I think). Although I will certainly take an interest when any imagery is released.

Regards
