The recent discussion about the Bulge releases got me thinking about why K&C are my favourite producer. For me they they just have the whole package; realism, quality, range and depth. When they do something they really do it properly and with style. Take the RAF range. Here we have a pretty new range and in the space of a year or more we have been given Pilots,Aircraft, buildings and vehicles, all of a superior quality that we have come to expect from them.

The painting style of the figures is another element that I believe contributes to their status as market leaders. It just oozes style and distinctiveness and makes them very enjoyable to collect. The product is weighty, well made and can I believe survive the odd bump from dropping, rearranging, and inquisitive family Cats etc.

One of the biggest drivers of all for me though is the huge range of quality products we see month after month. Just taking my sphere of collecting WW2, I am spoilt for choice. Having read about WW2 from the age of about eight the theatres of Battle of Britain,North Africa,Normandy,Bulge, Russia, Arnhem etc are all of great interest to me and so obviously TS's from those theatres have great appeal.

With all the arguing of late and then the Bulge discussions I thought it would be good to celebrate what we love about the product and why we think they are No1. :)

Wellsaid mate, couldn't agree more!:D
Although I do believe that we should have Market Garden releases every 3 months!:p:D

Hi Rob

Very well written - Although I do not share with you the same topics I think your words cover the hole range of King and Country products. But for me K&C are only a part of the pie - Although I don't write in too often - I read the forum every day and at times I am so impressed with the historical knowledge and input from fellow collectors. Andy cannot get everything
right
all the time, after all he is only human (well Scotch) But he has the ability to listen to the collectors and enhance his great products - Just to finish my pie
thanks to Treefrog for the Forum and an outlet for us collectors to be able voice our opinions and of course purchase these great figures. ;)

The mod council has removed thread highjacking posts and post referring to these posts. Seriously guys if threads like this bother you DON"T READ THEM !! and K&C guys don't respond as it doesn't help either, sorry to say it but you are all as bad as each other.

I think it has to do with the combination of Andy being an artist as well as having a mlitary background. His troops have the occasional "odd" pose, but generally they look like real soldiers. The way the troops stand, the looks on the faces, the way they carry their weapons, etc. The painting and size can be copied but it's hard to beat Andy's basic figures. I'll buy the vehicles to go with the figures. The overall product appeal for K&C is high. I appreciate the resale value, but that's not the reason that I buy them. I get the sets that appeal to me and unfortunately for my wallet, that's way too many!

I was looking for affordable 54mm Crusdes figures just when King & Country came out with their first Crusades release. Great timing! I was hooked. In that first release, they came out with men at arms, knights and the catapult. I collected them all. Then they added enemy Saracens and a siege tower. As new Crusades items were released, I added them all to my collection. While I'm waiting for the delayed next Crusades release, I just purchased the Desert Village Mosque to add to my other Desert Village buildings in my Crusades diorama. King & Country not only has unique figures in sufficient numbers and poses to enable you to build an entire diorama, but they also give you the buildings and other accessories to complete the entire scene. They have it all.

Well said Rob.

Since you asked. There are a number of points that make K&C standout.

Variety of ranges over many different eras. You can see long term planning in their ranges. Ranges are developed over time with a view to the collector being able to make good dioramas backed up with diorama items such as buildings and trees etc. Special mention must go to the Desert Village which fits in with a variety of ranges.

In addition they have produced items that are a bit more off the beaten track such as Vichy French with camels, WWII Italians, Ancient Egypt and Life of Jesus etc.

In relation to variety I am confident that K&C would have more different vehicles and planes currently available than their combined competitors.

K&C maintains good stock and some items are reproduced multiple times giving the collector plenty of time to collect them.

Reliabilty. K&C put out their Despatches and it comes true. OK there might be the occasional item that is delayed but it is usually not by much.

Good customer service. Quick delivery. Quality packaging of the items as well as shipments. Good promotional material backed up by multiple overseas trips to meet dealers and collectors.

To name a few.
Regards
Brett

I'd like to pick up on a point Brett raised about reliabillity of releases. Apart from the odd delay you can almost set your watches by the excellent releases produced every month, month on month. I find this makes collecting certain theaters very easy as you know just when you will get fresh reserves for each area you collect. Its another great aspect of the K&C experience and offers the collector reasurrance as to the schedule for their collections.

Sculpting,,painting and BRO soldiers

I don't think I am going to be able to resist buying some of these BR1 in London in a couple of weeks time, I am guessing they will retire soon and don't want to miss out on them.
