I just voted for the Pack Howitzer set, love that one.I really like the look of the new sets too, especially the Bazooka set.Such quality in this range no wonder its vying for top space in the other poll.

Rob

I've just voted for the returning patrol. I think it depicts soldiers under incredible strain really well. I also like the BAR gunner in the "Welcome to Bastogne" set.

I also voted for Returning Patrol. It's a great set.

pak howitzer as it was the first BOB i got, but they are all cool in their own way

'Walking wounded' is another cool set.Wouldn't mind picking it up in London in December.

Rob

What happened to the following:

BBA 04 Friend or Foe
BBA05 Mortar Halftrack
BBA 08 Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
BBA 11 Tank Destroyer
BBA 15 Sherman
BBA 16 Scout Car
BBA 19 Speed Tractor

If you're going to include unissued items, you should include retired items as well.

Maybe he didn't include vehicles. But if they were included the Scout car and Mortar carrier are wonderful models.

Rob

I would have to pick the Morter Halftrack and the tank destroyer..
just my opinion.
O.C.

Even limiting it to just "figure sets" it's hard to pick just one. I have been VERY impressed with Andy's artistry on these sets. The troops are well posed, the equipmnt is appropriate, and the guys LOOK COLD!

Gary

Could we in fact venture to say that of the WW2 Ranges maybe Bulge has the best facial features, those guys really look like they don't want to be there!

Rob,

You could take pity on the poor guys and send them all to me, so I can look after them in my nice, warm display cabinet. ;)

Thats a very good idea, but your almost 'Up North' where you are mate, its positively Balmy down here!;):D

They are extremely well depicted, aren't they. Along with the Desert War, this is one of my favourite ranges.

And although it's hard to improve on the first few releases i think these latest sets are even better. It is also for me another highlight of the collecting year, knowing that from October each year we are going back to the Bulge.:)

Completely agree Rob.
I quite deliberately restricted myself to only one vote in the poll, but if the Crimea hadn't shown up well, then I would have made Missus Heid and all her relations vote for it as well.

When i look at the realism of these sets it reminds me of an epsiode of Band of Brothers. Before the programme starts there is an interview with a veteran of the battle (his name i'm afraid slips me)He says that even today in the depth of winter at night he thinks ' I bet its cold in Bastogne tonight'.I don't know why but when i look at the figures i think of him saying that.I suppose thats the mark of realistic figures, evocative.

Rob

I am waiting for George to send me the new BBA sets. I am unable to determine my favorite if I can not physically see the new releases.
