I thought of this as a companion to the General's thread on movies we are embarassed to say that we haven't seen.

Though, I can't think of movies I'm embarassed to admit having seen, so much as, movies for which I wish I could get that little piece of my life back.

The remake of "Godzilla" is one, with Matthew Broderick, Hank Azaria. It was just bad, especially for me as a Godzilla fan. I almost walked out on it, but the theater had a no-refund policy, and eight bucks is eight bucks.

I bought the DVD of the "Fountain". Worst thing I ever spent money on. It has been a while back since I watched it but it was the strangest movie I ever saw. I never did figure out what was going on or what that wierd dimension in the bubble was.

Marie Antoinette with Kirsten Dunst, even watching it for free I'm still feeling horrible about it. Soundtack was awesome, but not in the movie at all.

Very strange movie indeed Mike, I would have to say seeing National Treasure 2:eek::eek:, not very good, was however better watching a second time.

The Piano,

Honestly, the ex-wife made me see it.
I saw it in the early nineties a total chick flick. It was boring and terrible from the start and only got worse when you got to see a nude Harvey Kietel:eek:,need I say anymore.

Cloverfield. I am not embarrassed to say I have seen it, only that I watched all of it. I have reviewed this pitiful waste of celluloid here before (even started a thread with it) but the short version is no acting, no direction, no plot, no writing, amateur special effects and juvenile camera work. In fact the only reason why it might not belong here is that I am not sure it could reasonably be called a "movie".

"The Happening" by M. Night Shyamalan. A truly terrible movie, with one of the more ridiculous plots ever produced by a major studio.

Shyamalan hasnt made a really good movie since "The Sixth Sense" IMO. Thus the old adage "All you need is one lucky hit" :)

He does know how to market his movies so people want to see them even after the buzz goes stale. Ill give him that.

Any of the Ernest movies or movies with Pauly Shore:eek::eek:

But would you agree that the late Jim Varney was far more talented a comic actor, far more watchable, and far less annoying, than Pauly Shore? :D

Actually, I remember Jim Varney as one of the crewmen of the Sea Tiger from the TV series version of Operation Petticoat. Also starred John Astin (Gomez Addams) as the captain, Jamie Lee Curtiss (whose father was in the original), and John Schuck.

Re: What movie are you embarrassed to say you have seen?

"Natural Born Killers" with Woody Harrelson and Julia Lewis Dreyfuss...I can't believe I paid money to see this ridiculous film, but not embarrassed to tell folks I walked out of the theater after 20 minutes. Same thing with Pulp Fiction....moronical.
No Country for Old Men saw the DVD... I would rather have spent my valuable time on this earth having someone pull me down a sidewalk by my two front teeth!

Just goes to show you. I loved "No country For Old Men". Thought it was a great flick, mesmerized the entire time.

Guess its why they make all those fancy flavors now, in addition to chololate, vanilla and strawberrry...

If I know a movie has been awarded an Oscar, I generally try to avoid paying cash to see it wait for it to come on Satellite.
That is what I did with Broke Back Mountain.:D:D
Hey come to think of it I am embarrassed I watched that one. :D:D:D

sat and watched the remake of 'the day the earth stood still' by the end of it felt like my life had ended never mind stood still.

Who'd you watch it with, The Girls Next Door?

Huh? Sorry, I dont get the joke, or the insult. :D

But Im certainly not in the minority:

"The film was honored with numerous awards, garnering three British Academy of Film awards, two Golden Globes, and four Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director (Joel and Ethan Coen), Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Javier Bardem)."

Hmmmmmmm
