The recent Tiger comparison set me to wondering about what folks consider the best armor examples so I thought I would ask, what two tanks would you buy first (or if you could only buy two)? Pictures are very welcome.;)

Since I'm big on British armor, I would buy without thinking a Desert Sherman or a Cromwell.

Do you mean "and", you can pick two? Also, could you all give the manufacturer since I really don't know who does what in this area.

Interesting question. Of the current tanks I own, I consider the HB Jagdpanther in ambush pattern to be my favorite and best AFV. It would be the first thing I would buy given that I cannot afford (or have access to) an HB Gold Edition Tiger. Despite it's supposed problems, I also really like the KC King Tiger (Henschel). I think it is an outstanding piece in color and bulk. Close also rans would include HB Panther and CS Tiger. -- lancer

I'm not all that into tanks anymore, but all the same, I'd really like to get the Figarti Grant and Panzer IV.
Too many other TS priorities at the moment though, what with playing catch-up on older East of India figures and of course pre-ordering new FL figures.
By the time I get the priorities bought, it'll be well into next year before I can seriously consider getting those two tanks. By which time I suspect they'll be long gone.

Cheers

It is interesting to note that so few here have more any interest in discussing their preference in tanks. I suppose WWII collectors are just shy.;):D

My favorite armored vehicles already in my collection are:

K&C Wood 30 Corps. Sherman (1996)
Figarti "Shock & Awe" Tiger (2006)
Honour Bound Gold Edition Snorkel Sherman (2008)
K&C Resin and Metal 8 Ton Halftrack Pulling 88mm Gun (1996)
Figarti "Cambrai" Grant (2008)
Honour Bound Gold Edition Tiger (2008)

If had to pick any two tanks I would love to see made:

Any HB Gold Edition armored vehicle not yet made;
Figarti Pershing Tank.

If I could dream big, it would be for K&C to have the factory making its museum quality warbirds bring back wood and metal armored vehicles in the unbelievable level of quality it applies to the present Warbird production.

I'd have to go for A Firefly and a Centaur. But a Cromwell or Desert Sherman would also be cool.

My presently owned favorites..K/C Matilda and CS Tiger/ KC Lee

My wish list, updated Lee/Grant and Panzer Mark whatever with all the slirts ( more affordable versions by K/C or CS ) That leaves Figarti and HB out of my wallet range...and that is why I listed already produced versions as future wishes..Michael

With the exception of the CS Winter Stug & Winter Tiger, everything I have is in 1/32 scale and I'm trying not to break over to 1/30. As far as pre-existing vehicles go I would like one of Figarti's 1/32 Japanese tanks and maybe that new CS armored car thing in the Winter version. You can see I'm not doing a very good job of staying out of the 1/30 scale. I am however, limiting it to Winter versions. I find my limited resources very helpful with the endeavor. tee hee.

What I meant is that if these were made, I would purchase them. The manufacturers of choice would be K & C or Figarti (HB is no longer in that business). Although I'm sure FL would make a fine one, it might be a little undersized but I would take a look at it as I have three Figarti tanks in 1/32 scale, all wonderful.

I love my Figartis. I just wish their most recent offerings were in 1/32 scale. I understand with the great interest in K&C, why they
are producing in 1/30 however.

You might want to look at the Figarti Grant tank. I saw it at a show and it seemed small to me for 1/30 scale. Maybe ,those that have one can post it next to a 1/30 tank for comparison..It may be alright then ,for your collection..Michael

The Figarti Grant is 1/30. This has been discussed a couple of times. It even came up in Chicago last year and Rick measured it and it was 1/30.

Nice collection and pictures Captain. I would like to see some more from the rest. Come on lads, if you've them, show them.:D

Only TWO????? For a Shermanoholic that just isn't answerable:)

What would I really go out of my way to spend K&C/Figarti?HB prices on? Well, a K&C T26E3 Pershing would be an impressive beastie. Of course a Figarti or "HB Gold" quality rendition of the US M4A1 Duplex Drive would be worth the money. I don't know if I would rather have the T26E3 (M26) or an new M4A3E8.

A new K&C M7 Priest (of course US Army ETO) would be nice also - the old one was a nice tank. An M36 TD would add 90mm firepower to the Bulge series.

So many choices, so little money in the bank!

I would like to see KC remake the Panzer III. Also some kind of flak panzer, except the gepard, which I already have and love.
