Ok, we got this today:

http://msn.foxsports.com/wcbk/story/Nine-players-suspended-by-MEAC-following-brawl-021711?GT1=39002

and then this yesterday...

these female athletes are gettin outta hand!! ^&grin

The story yesterday just shocked me to no end- for those of you into grappling- IOWA is all about Wrestling. I know for a fact that when I wrestled, any of our lighter guys could've simply headlocked any female they were up against into submission- nothing against the female athlete- simply physiology at that age- perhaps the weight classes are a bit more even between the sexes at those lower weights.

Wrestling is a technical sport- it ain't easy so she has to be doing something quite extraordinary to have advanced as far as she is. All I'm gonna say is that I'm glad I never had to face any female wrestler at 171,189 or heavyweight when I wrestled- I would've never left my house!!

Sorry if I sound sexist- don't wish to come off like that- this stuff is just amazing to me.

I don't know why it's amazing to you. Men baskeball players get into fights. Why not women. Women sports are a big, very big part of college sports today. I don't think many people give it a second thought. In fact, I remember reading years ago that in Indiana basketball games between girl teams from elementary schools drew huge crowds.

Things dramatically changed when Title IX (of the Education Amendments Act of 1972) came into force, which requires colleges to provide equal funding to both men and women's sports.

By the way, women got the right to vote back in the 1920s :D

Take it from a University of Iowa graduate that yes wrestling is a MASSIVE deal there. Also take it from a guy who use to work as a bouncer in my leaner, meaner, younger years that women are usually the cause of most altercations. I think I broke up more cat fights than I did guy fights. Also take it from a guy who in high school freshman football played defensive tackle and had to line up against a woman playing offensive tackle on the opposite side. First play of the game I gave her a nasty concussion and pretty much ruined her further football career. Yes, I still feel guilty about that one. Yes I know this comes off as sexist, its not really meant to.

I'm all for women in sports on any level. Yet I think its better for all sports not to be coed. Pretty sure there are not too many women wrestlers in America. This guy is in a no win situation. If he beats the crap out of her he's a jerk. If he loses he never hears the end of it.

Keep it silly
