Wow, Steve … looks like this is an accumulation of all the small scouting actions of your previous dioramas!

Reminds me of the Mel Gibson flick... "WE WERE SOLDIERS." Very well done with a lot to look at.

Although you gotta' tell the guy standing up firing to get back down on the ground ...{sm2} He is a BIG target!

Cheers Larry and Mike, Yes now you guys mention it, it does look a bit like one of the scenes from, "We were Soldiers"

Though what I had more in mind, was 3rd Platoon, Bravo Company, 1/26 Marines, who became known as the Ghost patrol, as they lost I think, 27 KIA/MIA and 21 wounded (including men from two squads sent out to get them.) whilst on patrol less than a mile from Khe Sanh CB on 25th Feb 1968. A few weeks later another attempt was made to bring back the bodies of the dead. Another 10 Marines died doing that. I think there was one PFC who was POW and returned in 1973.

Know what you mean about the Marine with the sixty Larry, but he's the only machine Gunner we got so far and waiting for Andy to release others :tongue:

Both the Black guys' I've repainted as I didn't like the bright red lips and the shading and so darkened the skin, in doing so removing the highlights and the colour of their lips to that which looks better to me, others will no doubt disagree. Also a bit of altering on the ammo belt adding the red tracer {sm4}

Thanks Greg. starting to make a small trench / bunker section for a Khe Sanh dio . Think I'm going to need an awful lot of sandbags for that.

I fully agree, great setup and very realistic; this is really what “contact” meant over there!

Cheers mate, such close quarters action has got to be an intense experience and going out on the long operations that typified that war, hunting the enemy and being hunted by them.
