I am glad to hear that people like DD104SL. I am still trying to save up for one in Q2 2009. I would have my money sooner but that new Komet from K&C is calling my name and it must be mine.

I was wondering if anyone had an idea of how sales were going on it. To me it looks like I should have no trouble picking one up in June 2009. But if you guys tell me it is flying out the doors I will rethink my buying plan and move it up.

Thanks to everyone who has posted pictures of it. I think it look really great.

In my opinion, check ebay in mid 2009; I'll bet you find it in the $200 to $225 range.

Below retail? I hope not....though with this economy who knows! I would

think you should have no problem picking one up from a dealer at retail in

your time frame.

I wonder if Andy is going to apply to Congress for a Bailout?

The fact that he is a British Citizen, operating a company in a foreign nation

shouldn't matter!

He is most likely doing a far better job then our car companies......of course

balanced books isn't good, so he might have to fudge the numbers a bit to

pick up a free Billion or Two!:D

I like the fact that they are ready to give the big 3 an extra 15 Billion with

one expert saying they really need 145 Billion!:D

Its even better that Chrysler is a private company so their books are still

private!

Look people its simple just do the math!

Ford owes 157 Billion Dollars

They have 27.5 Billion Cash on Hand

They are losing 11.5 Billion a year.

What keeps them afloat you ask?

They made a profit of 29.87 Billion then wrote it down to the -11.5 Billion loss.

Now thats creative financing!

Here is GM's Deal:

Debt- 45 Billion

Cash- 16 Billion

Losing- 22.8 Billion year

Profit- 12 Billion written down to -22.8 Billion Dollar loss!

Chrysler- Private.

Wouldn't you like to tell the IRS that you actually didn't make 100 grand last

year.....when you added everything in you actually lost $50.......so could

they please pony up $60 grand cause you have your eye on a little sports

car!:D:D

With all due respect, if you can buy it below retail, why would you not? If you look at the history of all SLs, it's a chequered history. The Stug, the Winter Tiger, Greif and Tunisian Tiger have done well. However, if you look at the Sherman, Heydrich, Panzer Meyer and Horch, they're not or just at retail. If you're patient, you should be able to buy this on ebay at below cost.

My list is at home but I think in the high $290s, up to $325.

Very True and yet the CEO's salaries are in the millions and they fly to Washington in private planes to the tune of 20K per flight.......There is something very wrong in this country.....when the middle class American continously gets the ultimate shaft for these "Fat Cats"........very SAD....IMO

Cheers:
Agreed about the salaries to a certain point but not in regards to the mode of transportation nor the inflated reported costs of said flight(s)-just my opinion from this side of the firing line and my profession. The timing & subsequent perception was simply bad. The link posted below is from a 03 December article from TIME Business & Tech which shadows some of my thoughts on this matter.

You can't have CEO's of major corporation's flying coach or even on commercial airlines. For one, they can't use their cell phones on the plane, and two, with all the confidential talk that takes place between executives, you can't have the general public evesdropping in...

What list? Is there a price guide? I know several dealers that have these in stock at list price still.

A list I've maintained since 2005 for prices paid on ebay for retired K & C WW II items. Not drying to drum up business but it's available for sale.

I'm not as concerned with their business related flying arrangements, but one of these guys flys home to the west coast every weekend at the companies expense. When you earn 23 million a year:

1. Buy a home near work....or

2. Pick up the weekend jet fees.

When a 12 Billion Dollar profit which would provide our government with a 4

Billion Dollar tax payment, can be turned into a 22.8 Billion Dollar loss requiring

a Multi Billion Dollar Bailout we have a problem!

Can't anyone in government add any more?

Oh and no more talk on Pilot's salaries please.......Beaufighter is doing his

part to break into the next higher tax bracket......right up there past the

doctors.......up up up past the N.Y. Attorneys up up to the final tier......

the licensed Plumbers!!:D:D

The daughter has a 300 year old house in Princeton, kitchen drain backed up

on a weekend......so they called their friendly neighborhood resident plumber.

He came out and with the Son-In-Laws help (another Attorney) they snaked

out the line in 20 minutes........cost why a sparkling water and $600!

I received this set from "King Charles Cavalier" and his bride (Better Half) as a XMAS gift. A simple "WOW" sums it up. I saw the actual vehicle thanks to Mike from Sierra via his NorCal Tank Tour earlier this year. Having this scale vehicle in my collection now completes the experience. She is a beauty-job well done indeed Team K&C!

An "interesting" piece.... but....... I will pass at $300 just not in my current budget also does not spark much interest for me.....might consider it at $250 however if anyone will send me one as a belated Christmas gift it will be greatly appreciated:D:D

One just went on ebay for $256, so it could be getting there.
