Where is Britains Classic Collection going? (1 Viewer)

I find it hard to plan on which Britains Classic figures to collect if you want to build a group. Imagine you want to get a few Franches de La Marine figures from the FIW range, or any other French regiment or group of Indians from that period. The available figures are quite stunning, quality is with the absolute best. But we have 1 Indian figure and 1 Franches de La Marine figure, and that is the situation for more than a year I believe. One does not have the slightest idea if these figures will in future have any reinforcements and thus no clue on how to plan your collection. If a complete range was issued, or at least a complete set, either a number of individual figures (like the extensive Tommy Atkins FIW or Culloden range) or a few 4 figure boxes, I would find it easier to take the plunge and plan ahead. Some careful experimenting from Britains seems to be taking place but possibly a little more risk taking would get some rewards. All of this IMHO, what do I know about working in this industry, please excuse me, I don't know a thing about manufacturing strategy, just a few collector's thoughts... That said, I have both the Franches de La Marine figure and the Indian figure.
Oh, and another thing I'd love to see would be a Napoleonic Classic Collection in gloss besides just the British Napoleonic individual releases, with Frenchmen and other nationalities. That would possibly have meant that I would have had a tough time choosing between Imperial's glossy Nap line (much harder and more expensive to get at least here in Europe) and any Britains Classic Nap collection.
I am sure there is a market for quality glossy figures like Britains (has anybody seen the unbelievable prices reached on E-bay auctions for T. Atkins Culloden/Jacobite Rebellion figures), but then again who am I to say this...

I have considered the very nice 4 four figure sets released as part of the FIW series, but in 2 of them there's a simple repainting of some figures that I already have (previously released as part of the 1st Foot Guards. Anyway, the 4 sets would allow any «newcomer» to build a very nice group display. What can we expect for the future? More 4 set groups, including or excluding repaints?
This I believe is the kind of thing that can bring more collectors into the lovely Britains Classic figures or make them give up collecting such figures. All IMHO.

Hello There!
Richard and I have been considering developing another series of four figures sets as we did with the 1750-60 British Infantry. Although the next development will not appear in the February catalog, we may see it later in the year.
We have some ideas which time period will be expanded but that information will be held until it appears in a catalog... sorry!
All the Best,
Ken Osen

Please make it something from the 1870-1900 era.:)

A little more info on plans for figures would be usefull and a big help in the planing of purchases. Like, if there is a figure at attention or marching, it would help to know if there will be additional figures available in the future to compliment them. Before one decides to buy multiples he kind of needs to know if he will be able to get some corresponding figures later for the group, like an Officer, NCO or such.
For example the mounted 21st Lancer from 1898 would look good in multiples but does need an additional figure, an Officer for example, to support the display.
I am afraid that when suddenly additional figures of a certain time period come out, the iniatial releases might be sold out or retired.
Is there any possibility for more info?
Thanks for a reply.
