I just watched Zulu again and the compound has a reddish brown earth, while the long grass looked dead or dying and the undergrowth appears bright and fresh. My son used jgm stand alone grass with a blend dead & green on his display and it looks the part.
Thank you everyone for your responses. I particularly enjoyed the Daily Mail article (although not a reader for obvious reasons!) With so much information on this subject available it was refreshing to see some new contemporary pictures. I think that might be an oxymoron.
