Is there a way it can be determined the order in which people joined this forum?
I know I was in the top 50, but would be curious as to the longest members.
Also how did you find this forum.
I happened to call Treefrogs about a purchase and Shannon told me about it.
Gary

Aside from Shannon and Pete, I think the first may have been Fullyautomatic. I may have been right after him (I'm not sure).

I found out about the Forum on the same way you did Gary.

That would be me ;):D. If you're going to launch a forum you'd better be willing to be the first member!

Peter Reuss was the second member and gk5717, you yourself were the first actual collector to join up (thanks!).

Here is a list of the first 10 people to sign up for the Treefrog forum back in April 2005:
1) Shannon Reuss
2) Peter Reuss
3) gk5717
4) Fullyautomatic
5) victory
6) Alexdakar
7) jazzeum
8) desert fox
9) Flammenpanzer
10) Dennis David

10 members wouldn't make for a viable forum long though and we thank each and every one of you (except spammers:p) for joining and participating in the Treefrog Forum.
Cheers to you all,

I think the first 10 should get some special recognition.

How about a K & C set of our choice!

If you click on Members List and then Join Date it will organize the members by join date in order. It shows 5 members joining on the first day 4-22-05. Which were:

Shannon
Pete
Alexdakar
gk5717
Fullyautomatic
and victory

I also agree the first 10 people should get some special recognition.:D:D:D:D

Alex, I always thought you were the third to join but your member id is '6.' Beats me why it seems to say different things in different places. I think the main point is that you were definitely one of the first to join up--and I appreciate it! :)

The reason I called Shannon was to buy some Britains stuff, not K&C.
I was on Groundpounders old Forum and there were only about 5 K&C collectors on there.
Could not have been happier when Shannon informed me she was starting a K&C forum. Shannon I am correct on that, right. It initially was basicly for K&C, and branched out later on.
I then advised Fullyautomatic & Victory, from Groundpounders, about the new forum.
Shannon maybe you can promote me to general due to my seniority!

I've just worked out that I was the 118th member to join. I found the forum by accident whilst searching the web for another dealers site. Can't belive that was nearly three years ago.

Hi Gary,

Wow! I did not know that the Treefrog forum was originally a K&C forum. That is a very interesting piece of history! At what point was the forum expanded to include collectors of figures produced by other manufacturers? Whatever the answer might be to my question, I am glad the forum was expanded to include a broader representation of collectors.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Pat,

That's not correct. It was not just a K & C forum initially. It had a separate Britains section. It was and is a forum for all toy soldiers.

And that's how rumors get started. ;):p
Nope, it was never a K&C-only forum. It only *seemed* that way because at the beginning no one but the King & Country collectors posted. It was like pulling teeth to get the Britains collectors to say anything, but it was also about the time Britains was going through major changes in ownership and a lot of collectors were waiting to see how things would shake out. It took a while for people to settle in and discuss a wide range of toy soldiers.
Gary you probably have the "K&C forum" idea in your head because I've said many times if it hadn't been for the King & Country collectors posting at the beginning the forum would never have taken off.
Now that we've got lots of toy soldier categories to choose from I hope to see a flats category and war gaming categories in the future. But that of course depends on the interest of the members. You speak with your posts and I try to accomodate. To the future!

The first K & C thread was in April 2005 and the first Britains in May 2005.

Hi Brad,

Thanks for the clarification. It is comforting to know that, from the very beginning, the Forum was open to all collectors regardless of their manufacturer of choice.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

I joined and the forum was for all toy soldier collectors. Thanks Alex: I checked my join date which is #12. Do I get a Snickers bar? John:)

How about a catagory for "Fantasy" figures? And I'm not referring to the obviously objectionable ones...!!!
I think there's a lot of "D&D's and LotR's" type collectors out there who would add value to the forum.
Some of the paintwork I've seen on these kind of figures is stunning.

H

My youngest son (the one who still lives at home) has a nice collection of LOTR figures and a few Dragons which I belive would make for quite a few photos of interest.

Pat,

Thank you. That was our goal then and continues to be our goal now.

Best regards,

These dates kinda suprise me, I joined in Aug. of 05' and I would have thought the forum was around for years with how well run and so many great contributors even then!
