why no iron crosses to simple soldiers?? (1 Viewer)

I noticed this.....In KC only high rank german officers, ex:generals have the right to wear an iron cross, or 2. In reality, many german soldiers wore the iron cross 2nd and 1st class and other decorations dedicated to battles, campaigns.As the war developped more and more " pour le mérite" were given to soldiers.
 
The iron cross 2nd class was worn only on the day the award was given. After that it was warn as a ribbon on the soldier's tunic.

The iron crosses depicted on many K&C figures are actually the Ritterkreuz or Knight's Cross, a higher level award for bravery.

The ribbon would be fine. And there were many medals for the Soviet Union campaigns( like the conquest of Krimea), for the wounded, the tank destroyers....
