Hi all,

I remember awhile back Britains did some WWII stuff and then seemed to vanish?? why is that?? with so many collectors that buy the name brand William Britain they would choose not to continue this range or at least some new releases here and there to keep the interest?? the new WWI stuff looks really nice and being that WWII has alot of interest they would choose to keep this range?? anyway just a thought?...Sammy

Not sure if Britains was ever successful with WW2... K&C seems to have cornered that market with FL breathing down their neck! Britains was always better at producing British Empire ranges and I think are very successful at it. Also, Britains ACW, AWI and WW1 ranges are excellent at a much lower price compared to other companies and I believe that to be an advantage in this economy. {sm3}

I am a ACW collector and have several dioramas. Wm Britain is one of the best at this era in history. I don't know why they do not produce more WW II items. But I think it would be great as this is another part of our American History.:wink2:

K&C does seem to be the leader in WW2 items but a lot of people are gravitating towards First Legion (I base this on what Ken at Maison Millitaire told me). Then you have Thomas Gunn coming out with some great models, Figarti, Collectors Showcase, Honour Bound etc.

Choice is great for the consumer but not so great for the manufacturer. It's a bit like satellite TV. Over here in the UK we once only had four channels to choose from and audience figures were huge for certain programmes. Had those programmes been shown today, when there is more choice, it is likely they wouldn't have received half the viewing figures.

WB's market share may be negligible if going down the WW2 path. I think they are being managed very well and their choices of range have thus far been excellent.

I still think there are some potential voids that will enable WB to cash in (other than the one I keep banging on about).

If, and it's a big if, WB did go down the WW2 route, perhaps there is a lack of figures depicting the Imperial Japanese Army out there. I don't know how well they would be received, however.
