Matt,

A Question:

In the picture of the forecoming Russian Infantry featured in the Workbench Area the Russian officer is a totally different one. His arms are different and his pants are different. Why the switch? Will we still be seeing the original pictured officer down the road in another release?

I have attached some pictures showing the original officer then one of the newer officer, the one actually released.

Just curious……

I'd say its a totally different figure , note the position of the legs and sash , The face also looks to me to be a different sculpt and of course the arms . Good eye KM , just for the record I'll take one of each . Best Gebhard

There are also boots on the workbench officer. The workbench shows Jaegers ( Or the Russian Equivalent) with short barreled muskets. It seems like this will not be the only Russian Infantry release. Which is a good thing!! Also a couple of the figures are sans pom pom. The shako badge looks different on some also, if you look close. This should be another great release........ after the Highlanders:D;)

Can't get anything by you guys! :D

It's actually 100% a totally different sculpt. We've released 20 Russian Tauride Grenadiers, but we have many more sculpts already done. For this particular release, we selected the combinations that we preferred. At some point in the future, the original officer pictured will indeed be released, though not as a Tauride Grenadier - more probably as line infantry or guard infantry.

Best,

Matt

IMO the officer figure you choose for this release is a more fitting one then the one that was shown in the workbench section . His body position is more animated and fits in better to the theme at hand , a counter attack . The officer that is shown in the workbench looks to me to be more fitted to a line formed and ready to fire which would be a Great future release . I really like the approach to the firing line that First Legion is heading down that was started with the IMO fantastic Westphalian Guard Chasseurs release . That is several figures shown in the process of loading and firing , like mentioned before by someone when talking about the new Rev War firing line this really is nice and makes for a better more varied display . This release will cover my whole May budget  FU CC Gebhard
