Just thinking about Brad Haddin's impending demotion and the question of which international keepers have been dropped and then returned to a national side.

I know Steve Rixon got back in during 1984/85 and Rodney Marsh returned after World Series cricket in 1979/80, but which other keepers made it back? It is accepted wisdom that batsmen are better when they come back - Ponting, Hayden, Langer, Martyn are four that spring to mind - but what about keepers? I know the English have dropped Prior and there was the Bruce French, Jack Russell, Alec Stewart years ago but who else in recent years?

Dear Mr "river which comes from canyons" - you make fun of a national institution!{sm4}

Didnt Wayne Phillips get dropped and then made it back in?

Possibly - the selectors did him over by making him do both when he was such a lovely striker of the ball and certainly not a Test keeper. I think he may have got back for a tour of NZ but it just finished up from there. He scored one of Australian Test Cricket's greatest hundreds - 120 against the Windies in the WI and I think 80 came in boundaries.
