Hi all,

Well since the Panzer III looks to be retired and not coming back any time it's time to move on to plan B, I hope to pick up a FL DAK 002 at the Chicago show and then I contacted Michael (our own Kilted Vampire) who has done seen really great repaints/ new painted work to do a repainted version of this great tank, not only repaint it but do it in a winter version repaint!! I'm not one to roll the dice on a 300.00 dollar tank but no doubt the efforts that I have seen from Mike have been spot on and believe he will do a fantastic job with it, stay tuned next month as i asked Mike to post his updates here on this project...Sammy

Can't wait to see the results. I could see one of my DAK Panzer IIIs getting a similar treatment.

Sammy, just remember that dealers don't bring all their stock to Chicago so if you want to be sure to purchase it, you should arrange for them to order it for pickup there.

Sammy, I repainted one myself it isn't too hard to do....use Panzer grey enamel paint RAL 79....I did it in Stalingrad Grey with a different turret number then the original..........Or....Better yet.... You could just start a DAK collection{sm4}....I have both DAK panzers and I hope to eventually pick up the desert motorcycle figures and desert german supply truck......my only concern with the DAK Africa Series is the British 8th which has seen only limited releases thus far from FL...Only 6 figures so far and no British armour or artillery.:(.....Hopefully we will see more soon.

Thanks for the suggestion Frank, but my painting/drawing skills are just barely above stick figures!!!!^&grin I hope to pick the Dak III up in Chicago but no plans for a Dak range for me, gladly having the Kilted one do some winter work and add the Pz III in with my winter IV diorama, going to pick up some JG Minature trees as well to round out the winter scene...Sammy

No problem Sammy.....But you should consider the DAK range in your collection ....If FL develops more of the British 8th army it will be a good sub range for WWII....I will try to post some pictures latter in the week on hobbybunker of my re-painted Panzer III. Best Frank

Sammy, if your plan is to get the DAK002 panzer III, you should probably get it ASAP because we have exactly 1 left and then all Panzer III's are gone and gone forever.....

Matt

Thanks for the heads up Matt, I contacted George and he is bringing me one to Chicago...Sammy

You will really like it Sammy. I have the Grey one and it is still one of my favorites. (actually they are all tied for 1st!)

Actually Brad I had one when First Legion first released them, but I needed some fast money a year or so back for a family emergency and sold it figuring I would re-buy it later as they were still available on Ebay but I waited to long and now they are scarce as hens teeth, so going the re-paint road, Michael (Kilt V.) has done some great repaints here on the forum/Facebook page, and having it winterized will be a great addition to my Winter diorama...Sammy
