The diorama portrays German forces preparing to attack near Lake Balaton Western Hungary March 6 1945. Operation Spring Awakening was the last German offensive of the war on the Eastern Front. Sepp Dietrich commanded 1st and 2nd SS Panzer Armies in the operation to retake Hungarian refineries and oil fields captured by the Russians.
