Back 5 or 6 years ago when buying the older K&C sets was the rage, the holy grail was the winter 88 with add on set. Fast forward to now when the old K&C sets sell for about what they did when they came out. It will be interesting to see what the above WS24 which is on ebay with a starting price of $1500 will sell for or won't. I say it won't get the opening bid price. About 3 years ago I traded mine for $800 in trade. I would guess in todays collecting world about $600 is all this set would command.

I think $600 is about right. WS 20 goes for around $450 or $500 so the winter one should be a litte, but not much, more.

I saw the seller also had a WS 23 Panther for $900. More pie in the sky. Even in the good days, that wouldn't go for more than $350.

I know of a dealer with a winter 88 that he has had for some time. I believe he is asking $795. I'm sure it could be purchased a little cheaper. I'll agree with Brad's quotes on the WS20. I still have one that's not mint with fine crack lines in the base. Still shows great but I think my last price was $350 and I still have it. My choice not to deal with ebay, but it would probably sell there.WS23 for $900....great for seller if he gets it. Talking HB Gold prices on that one.

In the good days -- a few years ago -- a winter 88 would have easily fetched $1,000. Those days, though, are gone.

Today's collectors want better detailed models. As I don't know if K & C will ever make a 88 again, if someone really wanted one, I woukd steer them to WS 57. That and the accompanying crew were very well done.
