Wooden Crosses (Les Croix de Bois) (1 Viewer)

Thanks for the link. This looks like a well made and polished film, especially for the time, 1931. I would like to track this one down. -- Al

It's very close to the plot of "All Quiet on the Western Front" (1930) which means everyone is doomed with some similar characters to the German story. One scene that reminded me of ending of Battle Ground (1949), was the regiment being ordered to parade for the general just as they come out of the front lines. The men hate it but the discipline kicks in as the band starts and the locals cheers for the regiment in their muddy uniforms.
