I thought members may be interested in this 2-dimensional wooden "toy" soldier I had made for me by a Brit colonel, Keith Kiddie, on exchange here in Canada. He does it for a hobby. He usually does British regiments in period dress and tries to be as accurate as possible.
I asked him to do one of my old regiment, an officer of the Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary's) in "dress blues." I think he did a good job. The tartan is the Hunting Stewart. The figure is about 3ft high, made of solid pine and is weighted just enough that his tray can safely hold a glass of whiskey!
I keep it in my den. My wife was a little wary at first but now loves it.
