Starting Monday for a whole week I have work experiance:eek:

For those who don't know, this is for young people in Secondary Schools to go out into the world of work for a week and help them to get a better undertsanding of different jobs.

Since I can remember I have always wanted to be a police officer, and before the start of last month it had never occured to me that I could have done anything else that I would have enjoyed as much.

Unfortunately I did not get into the Police, because 20 other people had applied for the same job, and only 16 could get it because of this new programme we have at our school.

My Guidance Teacher, Mr Guilbert and Work Experiance Coordinator, Mr Livingston told me that I had to get a job or else fail this part of my Schooling. I was taken out of class and made to pick a job at random. I picked a job at the airport, but that job had been cancelled from the school, much to Mr Livingston's surprise. I then picked a job for the Normandy Hotel in Renfrew which is about half an hour from where I stay. I was all set for going to this place even though I didn't want to, and thought it would be boring, when Mr Livingston came to me yesterday just after interval and told me that hehad cancelled my job at the hotel:eek:I was very surprised because I though he was going to say that I couldn't go to work experiance for some sort of strange reason, when to my utter amazement he said 'I've got you a place at the Burrel Collection', which is a large museum in a huge park near Glasgow caled Pollock Park:D

Prior to the last week for finding a job for work experiance, my mum had phoned all over the place to try and get me a job of working in a museum. I'd never have thought till then that this would have been a brilliant idea, because I absolutely love history:D!!And that's partly the reason why I collect King and Country Toy Soldiers:eek:

Anyways, my mum had gotten in touvh with the lady who is like the top person in charge of all the Glasgow museums and on the 24th of November (I think that's the correct date) I have a meeting with her about future jobs in the museum sector of the council:D

Yesterday after school my mum told me that she had recieved a phone cal from the lasy, who had been trying everywhere, and pulling lots of strings to get me a place in the museum:DShe said she go the phone call Thursday, but didn't want me to get my hopes up.

Burrell Collection Here I Come!!!!!!!

Scott,
Glad you're getting your work experience at a place you'll find interesting. Wasn't aware that you were considering the police, but if this is something you later want to look at, please drop me an e-mail or pm.
Hope you enjoy your week mate.
Cheers
Simon
