Anybody out there who is expert on working with polystone material? I would like to do some modifications on some of my duplicate K&C collection, e.g. I would like to cut-up the "solid" windshields of my Patton Command Car and German Krupp Truck and replace it with clear plastic.

Thanks for the help and info.

I'm no expert but why would you do that with items that are retired and and are very expensive in the secondary market. Dude, if I were you, I would think twice about that.

Polystone is what garden furniture and faux Doric columns are made from: light and easy to sculpt. But for something as small as a windshield I'd be more than a little nervous: in a break with the K&C norm the SF03 Humvee had perspex windshield but it didn't make it look any more authentic than other vehicles.

It could be a lot of extra work, and a diminishment of value, for little satisfaction. Buy a garden gnome and give it some cosmetic surgery to see what sort of detail can be sculpted from precast polystone pieces.

Thanks for your replies and comments re "working with polystone."

Looking at the the K&C GMC Truck , BoB Jeep and Dodge Weapons Carrier's clear windshields...it makes them look more realistic.

On the second thought, I'll keep them as is.
