Again World War II Days in Rockford happens the same weekend as the Chicago Show. I usually go out on Sunday after the show but this year I will be going on Saturday. If you have the transportation and time I highly recommend tearing yourself away from the hotel for a bit and check it out. It's about an hour drive west of the hotel. Attached are some pics from last year.

Experience the World War II Era
Saturday 11:00 am to 5:00 pm
Sunday 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

World War II Days includes elaborate and realistic battles complete with tanks, artillery, armored vehicles, and exciting pyrotechnic displays. Saturday the battle shows are featured at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Sunday the battle time is 2:30 pm. Maps of the event site will be available when visitors arrive showcasing the battlefield and the various encampments and attractions.
The Rockford Skeet Club is this year's Platinum Sponsor.

Visitors will also experience:

. Elaborate displays with the majority of historical buildings on the museum property
acting as the back drop of a European village during World War II
. Encampments in the Midway Village woods and realistic skirmishes integrated in the historic village
. German cavalry scenes
. Soldiers' base camps filled with period vehicles, tents and artifacts
. View "Quite Strength" a retrospective photo exhibit
. Shop for World War II memorabilia from numerous vendors
. Purchase quality food and snacks from Burritt's Meat Products of Rockford
. Special Rest Hospitality provided by the Wings & Wheels Museum of Poplar Grove

The largest World War II era re-enactment in the United States with over 800 uniformed re-enactors attending along with dozens of vintage tanks and other 1940s era military vehicles!

A 1940s USO-style dance is set for 7 pm Saturday in the museum's main building. Plan on joining us. The dance is free.
This year, the museum is introducing "Quite Strength," a retrospective photo exhibit during the special event. Don't miss this beautiful black and white photo exhibit.

Sahara, I may sound like a broken record but trust me YOU WON'T FIND TIME!
I looked into going to the WW2 event myself but there is just no way. Warbuff said it,s an hours drive from Schaumburg.
I thought maybe Sunday, but have now ruled it out.
Sure wish this would be on another weekend, I would make a seperate trip just for the event.

Why not go Saturday morning and get back in time for the Treefrog room event or Sunday morning instead of the show?
