I like the piece, and it fits in well with the rest of my collect, but does anyone know of similar item for a bit less? Perhaps a more destroyed version? There than the Build-a-rama piece of course.

The Sherman on a scenic base sold thru B-A-R and TSSD is about the only choice for a really destroyed M4 series tank (it's closer to 1/32nd than 1/30 but works OK with either). CS makes damaged tracks for their M4A3E8 and other vehicles. You could also take an FOV 1/32nd version and do a damaged M4. The plastic 1/32nd scale Monogram M4 was recently re-released, one could build that as a destroyed/damaged tank (it would need updates for the ETO).
