Hey KV-

I don't think I have ever said it before but I am very proud of you taking up the mantle with that group- they do tremendous work. Good bad or indifferent, my buddies that have been forward deployed have either came back in one piece or they are no longer with us. Fortunately, the "back in one piece" far FAR outnumber the KIA's but no one wearing any phyiscal injuries from this one.

A couple years back, I met a kid at church who was wounded in Iraq. He was 20 and with the 101st. Had a noticeable limp and came home for Christmas- his tour was over. Anyway, the church gave him a standing ovation when the pastor mentioned he was home. He and his family were sitting in front of us. It was a weird moment for me- he was the first Purple Heart vet I knew who was younger than me!! I always think of my grandfather and older individuals who as combat wounded vets- here I was face to face with a young man that was one. It was pretty humbling.

Anyway, thanks again for your effort with that group- I hope they win the tournament!!

Thanks for the story and I think every little bit helps. Please feel free to copy the links and place them where ever you think it will help.

KV, great job, my family has been giving to the Disabled Vets for as long as I can remeber. Every time I see a Vet, I say thank you to him, and I always donate to our local VFW. Great job KV, Mike:)
