So this fellow is led through Rome as a boy as a captured slave with his mother, rises through the ranks in Casesar's army, eventually takes COMMAND of a legion, goes to Parthia and cleans up Crassus' mess (akin to Germanicus several decades later in Germania) and has his own Triumph sponsored by Antony- through the same streets he was led several decades earlier as a boy slave.

The ancient world is beyond comparison with amazing larger than life personalities.

Would be interesting to discover what ever happened to him.

R W Peake forks his Marching with Caesar series after Caesar’s death.

The historical prong includes Ventidius which was my first exposure.

His “what if Caesar listened / did not die” fork is also interesting and also includes Ventidius.

He could be his own book.

Caesar doesn't get assassinated he marches to Parthia. There is absolutely no question what so ever in my mind about that.

Interesting as I have read some conspiracy theories on Caesars' assassination that the Politicians were so scared he would go to Parthia that that motivated them more than anything else to murder him. Remember that Crassus's entire junket over there was not a very popular move with the Roman people. They tried to stop him as he was leaving to Parthia. He should have listened!
