Agree, you can certainly see the evolution into the modern 8 wheelers like the Boxer and the Stryker eight wheelers, while the French military since the 1930s and through from WW2 to modern day have extensively used wheeled armoured vehicles, some carrying a powerful puching gun. The Russians with the BTR range of vehicle.

Nice video below of the modern stuff, i have made a couple in 1/35 scale modelling and they are impressive, do not think there would be much interest in the TS community as modern stuff does not seem to sell.
