Happy Friday to all. Just curious about this AFV and I read couple of articles like Tank encyclopedia and couple of good pictures on the web regarding this reconnaissance type AFV. Couple of things I want to ask in historical and collecting perspective.

Historical: a. Did the Sd. Kfz 234/1 and its variants ever present during OMG?

b. Did the Sd. Kfz 234/4 was even in the Normandy campaign? I don't see any pictures or other supporting
articles regarding this AFV.

c. What about in BOB are they all present and assigned to a Kampfgruppe Peiper or any other units in operation?

Collecting:
a. Did anybody did a review on this AFV?
b. Will this work or blend in with other AFV from TGM? We know that their was a Sd. Kfz 234/2 Puma and Sd.Kfz 234/4

I know some of the answers to your questions.

The 234/2 Puma with the 5cm gun in a turret was produced Dec 1943 - Jan 1944 with 100 produced

The 234/1 with the 2cm gun was produced June 1944 - March 1945 with 230 produced. The first production went to the HQ Kompanies of eight Panzer Division recon battalions, one Panzergrenadier unt and subsequently to many units as recon replacements and as flak

The 234/3 with the 7.5cm gun was produced June 1944 - Dec 1944 with 90 produced at which point production switched to 234/4 with the 7.5cm Pak 40 from Dec 1944 - Apr 1945.

OMG was Sept 1944.
Normandy was June 1944 - Sept 1944
BOB was Dec 1944

So 234/4 could not have been at any of those battles. A TO&E for Kampfegruppe Peiper does not show any 234's. As for other units, it would require TO&E for the ones at those battles.

Good info Terry - thanks for sharing.

Did anybody did a review on this AFV?
I do not recall a review but I snagged last Fall and really like it. It's my only late camo/tri-color piece by K&C but I love the design and paint job/weathering.

Here's a few pictures:

Going through the thread, this could be an example from either 4th Panzer Division or 24th Panzer Division in East Prussia / Pommerania in Feb / March 1945.

For the Puma (234/2), Panzer Lehr would be a good unit for Normandy and Battle of the Bulge.

You also have second Panzer Division that I think was at both.

You could convert it (or just hide the license plate) to 1st SS LAH.

Besides the 4th PD, the 5th, 7th and 20th PD each received them.

My 234/2 from TGM and 234/1 from K&C in winter livery look great together. I think they are really compatible.

For Normandy and the 234/1, you could have it in the 116th Panzer Division, and then continue into Operation Cobra. It then participated in the Battle of the Bulge.

The 9th Panzer could also work. 9th fought in Normandy, but arrived after Cobra began and was trapped in the Falaise pocket. It also arrived just at the end of OMG. So, probably not a great choice. It participated in BoB, as well.

I think my overall recommendation would be 2nd Panzer Division, who fought mainly against the Brits in Normany and barely survives Falaise. Then is reconstituted and has a major role in the Battle of the Bulge and is in action around Bastogne.

So, 116th Panzer or 2nd Panzer. Possibly 9th Panzer.

Totally agree Bradley.

Very nice, especially since I have finally fallen and started collecting Winter, a whole new world. Robin.
