Wow, WS70SL Winter Tiger #1 just sold on Ebay for $745! I was trying to remember if this was the items offered several years ago on another Toy

Soldier Forum? I remember a #1 was offered by a dealer, and the bidding reached several thousand dollars before it just fadded away with no clear

end result if my memory serves me correctly.

Which brings me to another interesting question.......What happens to the Low numbers of these Limited Releases? Anyone ever get one? We can

see someone from Arizona scored one.:D

I seem to have a lock on numbers 206 to 481 with an occasional 659 or 836 thrown in for good measure. I have asked a dealer or two to please

send me his lowest number which is usually followed by..."Your kidding Right?

I have ordered on the first day, used multiple dealers and even bought several of the same item and can proudly say my streak is safely

intact. I finally convinced myself that Andy starts all these series with number 205 so actually I have come closer then I ever

imagined.

So my question is......anyone ever get a low number?

Lets hear about it, and maybe see a picture or two......it certainly would be a nice addition to your collection!

John,
Pretty sure that was the Panzer Meyer WS77 set that supposadly went for silly money.
I've got a #2/200 HB Sherman and a #4 of one of the Figarti vehicles (can't remember which one:eek:), but like you, all of the K&C SLs I've got are middling numbers.

:D OK, I'll bite. What's the story behind the 'A'?

I have the elusive and one-of-a-kind certificate #0971 which is indicative of the final batch of this model, by which time all the bugs had been worked out and their casting technique and painting had been perfected. Why anyone would want #1 is beyond me.:D

Besides, it is only the certificate that says #1. I really doubt it is the first tank made. They probably produce a batch and then box them and if the actually use certificate #1 at that point, then one of the first batch completed gets it.

Ah well all my certificates seem to be somewhat special....... several include numbers and letters, one has that eye thats on the dollar bill, and my favorite is my new KM010SL Seehund which is numbered K  when I asked my dealer about that he said.

"Did you get a box"?

I said yes, I did.......he said

"Well send it back, yours wasn't supose to come in a box"!

Go figure!:D

I wondered about that...because I received certificate #0970 and when I lifted off the foam there was only a large pile of polystone dust and a tiny german helmet.

Once again I quickly called my dealer and he said:

"You get that helmet? Send it back, it wasn't supose to be in the box with the dust"! :D

I only have two K&C limited editions, NA158SL Napoleon and his Generals 707/999 and CRW024SL The Rescue 16/350.

Troublemaker :p:rolleyes: There might actually be some collectors who think you have that certificate number and will want to buy it from you.

I know I have the last one ever made of something from Figarti...I think it's the ETG-002 Primemover...something like 100/100 or 500/500 whatever the end number is? I thought it was pretty cool when I got...I said hey...I got the last one ever made!

I think having the last number is almost as nice as having the first one, so

thats a great piece for your collection.

Njja,
You may not recall but I remember in my early days on the forum I mentioned that I looked at the Ltd Ed Nos and sent the lower numbers to certain collectors. Even so that might mean number 74 instead of 479. This upset a few forum members who suggested I had no right to do that. I recall at the time somebody mentioning an Ebay sale of a No 1 (not sure which vehicle) for $1,500,
From my experience the numbers received by dealers are totally random. Now I do not look at them until opening box to sell to the customer. Assuming I had 2left and 2nd last one was No 1 that could be an interesting moment !!
I did get once Ltd Ed with the same number cert as the item number.
Other good number would be same number as vehicle number.
Regards
Brett

I have a few one of a kind K&C vehicles, does this count as 1/1 of a really strictly limited production run?:p:D

Its about time #1 sold, there have been so many winter tigers on ebay lately I have lost count. I think my #50 winter tiger is a better deal at $450:D Or now its considered a high number and I need to lower my price?

On the forthcoming Lincoln set, number 1 would be nice or number 750 but if I can't have either of those, I would like to get number 212 (February 12).

Brett, yes I agree, certain numbers would be cool as you point out. The number issue is an interesting one since it would require a dealer to open each and every box which could be quite a project.

I brought this up because we rarely if ever hear of anyone ever getting either the 1st or even the last number of a limited run.

The only two instances I recall were the sale on the other forum, and this most recent WS70SL sale and this piece has been retired for years.

I'm suprised these low number pieces don't have greater visiblity among collectors.
