I would like to get the ancient Egyptian house made by JG Miniatures if anyone has one for sale. Thanks.

Good luck, i have been looking for it off and on for 18 months. For reference (not in stock), Green's Collectables show picture under JG native & historical page 3 at $272.90. Cheers, Robin.

Thank you. It's funny that you mentioned Green's because I just contacted them about 3 days ago! It is a great looking piece. I may just end up trying to construct something myself, which I have never tried to do. That could get interesting. Good luck on your search.

I think you would find that piece extremely easy to build...pink board foam and untextured stucco patch...it looks like a fun project...

If you can find the house, you won't be disappointed. For reference, check out "What Life Was Like On the Banks Of The Nile," by Time-Life Books. On page 20, you'll see an artist's drawing of a Middle Kingdom home that is almost identical to the JG Miniature home that you seek. Good hunting!

I will have to check that book out. I am reading a similar book about life in ancient Egypt right now, but it doesn't have that photo, only descriptions of houses. I only started collecting Egyptians a few months ago, but the collection is coming together, with all three artisan sets, the pharaoh head, both the old and new Cleopatra sets, a St. Petersburg pharoah with spear, and many others. Right now I am trying to concentrate on harder to find pieces before they are impossible to find. I did get the little shelter that is often used on top of the Egyptian house in JG Miniatures photos. Whether I buy one or decide to venture into making one (I think that would be fun and probably way less expensive), I want to have something like that. I also am 3 figures into a small group of the K&C Napoleon in Egypt figures. I think with the proper dio pieces for the ancient and 19th century versions they will look fabulous together.

Glad that you at least bought the shelter, as it lends itself to several Egyptian scenes. Some books do show the models of Egyptian homes that were found in tombs and some websites show you architects' layouts of Egyptian homes. I used to have some interesting sites bookmarked, but they were lost due to a computer virus. The Time-Life book that I referenced should prove to be most instructive, however. And, of course, you can't go wrong by coupling the JG structures with the K&C figures!^&grin^&grin
