A complete listing of Belgian aces 1914-1918. 5-"Above the War Fronts" by Franks, Guest, & Alegi. Includes all British bomber aces, 2-seater aces, observer aces, Italian, Austro-Hungarian, Russian aces 1914-1918. All the books are illustrated and include thumbnail bios of all individuals listed as well as all victories and pertinent info such as location, date, type of aircraft, and whether it is confirmed or not. These books are indespensible to anyone wishing to study the aviation war of WW1. I think most of them are out-of-print but will be worth your time to track them down. Excellent studies! -- lancer

Another good book on WW1 British and Empire air forces is "Airmen of World War One" by Chas Bowyer. A photogrphic record it shows both air crew and ground crew, aircraft, uniforms, vehicles, women's services etc. Now out of print but worthwhile keeping an eye out for.
