ON CLOSER INSPECTION is a series of 360-degree immersive experiences developed by the Australian War Memorial
The first in the series you can you explore the Mark IV tank ‘Grit’ from the First World War at this link: https://www.awm.gov.au/visit/exhibitions/on-closer-inspection
The tank is on display at the Memorial in Anzac Hall.
Through the use of 360-degree digital video and VR technology, you can view and interact with the tank both inside and out. Click on pop-up icons to see archival photos, watch videos, hear audio recordings, and uncover the stories behind a machine that has played an important role in military history.
The Memorial will deliver four more 360-degree immersive experiences over the next two years, and I'd guess that could include aircraft like the Lancaster Bomber "G for George."
