Remembering the ww1 victims,probably the most terrible massacre was the genocide of the armenians in 1915. Because of the huge number ( 1 million, 1 million and a half),because of the savage modalities, and because it concerned men, women and children...All were civilians. In fact, the ottoman empire took advantage of the war to destroy the armenian community because they were christians. They were deported to Syria and other areas and the biggest part of them was litteraly slaughtered on the way. The worst killings , tortures, rapes were inflicted and two third of armenians died. Even when the american,french, british embassies protested ( later the german consulate), the genocide went on till the end.The few survivors spreaded in many countries like US, France, Palestine and others.
Let' s remember those innocent victims often forgot.
