Hi, I am new to this forum and just getting back to this hobby after many years.

I really want to do a diorama of an American artillery unit in WWI-- specifically one commanded by Harry Truman in the Meuse-Argonne offensive. It would have to have a couple French 75 howitzers and American soldiers operating them.

Does anyone know of a manufacturer that makes the components I could use in this sort of thing? All I can find are British figures.

Thanks!

Welcome Pablo!

I know Charles Biggs/Britains Premier did a glossy U.S. manned French 75 back in the 1990's. If anyone is planning on doing it now, I would think it might be John Jenkins Designs. John has an extensive WWI line, which are excellent, but I do not recall him doing a French 75 with an American Crew.

Britains Premier did an American 75 gun set several years back. It is a glossy finish but an excellent set. John Jenkins makes a French 75 in 1/30 scale in matte finish, but no American gunners. I seem to remember Quartermaster Corps also did an American 75 (1/32, gloss) but I haven't seen one in years and they are long OOB. New Zealand company Soldiers of the World offered an American manned 75 (1/32) in either matte or gloss, along with an ammo caisson, and that might still be in production but I don't know for sure. The only 75's I own all have French crews. I don't think anyone currently makes US crews for the 75 other than the possibility of the NZ SoW company. -- Al

You can always get castings of the gun and crew and get that assembled and painted.

This is what i have done for Luiz when he supplied a Hinchliffe gun and Scale Link crew.

Sadly Hinchliffe are no longer in production and I'm not sure about Scale Link.

Thank you very much for your comprehensive reply. I did indeed find that John Jenkins makes a French 75. I am still looking for appropriate figures to go with it. Thanks again!

Thanks, Louis. You are right! Johns Jenkins does indeed have a French 75. Thank you so much!
