WWI centenial (1 Viewer)

Guy, I aim to be at a few of the Sunset services at the Menin Gate next year, the last time we were in Ypres my wife's great Grandfather's name was read out during the service, can't wait to return next year. Do you have plans for 2014 yet?

Rob

Plenty Rob. Not only for the WW1 events but also for the 70th anniversary of the D-day landings . I will be in Normandy just before the 6th June . We prefer it that way because on the 5th, the 6th and the 7th of June no way to get around . Traffic jams everywhere and thousands of people. Queueing even for a cup of tea. Hotels overbooked etc ..;
Would be nice if we could meet when you are in Flanders . ( I live only 20miles from Ypres)I will tour the battle fields with a friend of mine, a WW1 expert, and would be very pleased if you could join us for a day or two at your best convenience,
guy:)

Thats very kind of you Guy, would be a pleasure to meet up out there. Wow 20 miles! Id be over thete sll the time!!

And your tip re Normandy is so helpful mate. When we went before it was very quiet ( September) so no probs. But we are going thete too next yesr ( Ypre/Somme/Disneyland Paris!!) and I was thinking of going for 6th June but I dont think I will now ,we'll go either before or after.

Thanks again Guy and apologies for any spelling errors in this post but haven't got my glasses with me!

Best

Rob
