I haven't seen many WWII Pacific Theater figures produced by King and Country. Of course there's been the short run of the Iwo Jima series but that's really it. I don't understand why more Pacific Theater figures haven't been produced by K&C, it's like only half of the war is being produced. The Pacific Theater was extremely important and K&C should make a product line for it. I think it could be a pretty successful line because no one really makes Pacific theater figures, besides Figarti.

Andy spoke about Pacific figures in Brisbane last year. Frankly put, they didn't sell well enough. I would love to see a Japanese range and some Australian troops, others did too and asked about it but Andy held out no hope.

At the same dinner Andy observed that everything eventually sells but of equal importance was the speed that it sells. The Pacific theatre might sell but not quickly enough. Someone also said - it might even have been Andy - that it might be to do with the lack of appeal of Japanese uniforms which might limit the broader appeal of the range. That said, it was also at this dinner that Andy said that the Arnhem range was done and dusted, so anything is possible.

Past selling performance of the Pacific line said it all. Surely there are those who would have interest in this line being made but the European theater of the war seems to sell several times better than the Pacific theater. :rolleyes2:

This reminds me of my E-mail exchange with Andy Neilson a few short years back about why no manufacturer has really gone into the Korean War of 1950-1953. It would be interesting as the UN forces had more than a few nations besides the USA & the UK contribute army troops. Andy's response was he did not think it would be a good seller. So alas, the Korean War was indeed the "Forgotten War" as it was often called back in the 1950's. But K&C may yet do the Korean War one day and certainly WW2 in the Pacific may well be done again sooner or later. Remember K&C's not going back to add to Custer's Last Stand in 1876 series ("THE WEST") until nearly 15 years went by!
