I read somewhere that Britains may revisit thier WWII range?? just wondering if anyone has heard this??...Sammy

Hi Sammy,
I now have 21 WWII infantry figures finished and need to finish 8 more to go with the equipment being released. We will release more information when we get closer.
Thanks for asking.

Ken:

This is great news! I hope they are scale-wise compatible with WB's previous "Operation Cobra" sets and the airborne figures released individually.

We have worked hard to keep the scale consistent within each style, 1/30th for our Matte and 1/32 for our classic gloss. Even between different periods our size and style is very consistent.

We have also maintained compatibility of general style and size of our Archive figures that represent the early days of military miniatures often referred to as 54mm.
Our new Archives Revisited Club figure is finished to a much higher level than almost any of the early figures, but certainly could have been made by the company if there had been a need to.

I have decided to wait until the figures are all in production before I post pictures and descriptions.
I know there may be some discussion why we might have chosen this or that, but remember that we have to start somewhere and with collector support we hope to develop figures and vehicles for many different theaters of operation.

Glad to hear that Britains will be returning to World War II ground combat, after far too long an absence, if I may say! Although your 1916-18 British and Germans have more than made up for that. It will be fascinating to find out what eventually emerges, but I think I'll go way out on a limb and predict some Germans! I'll now hang on to my Forces of Valor tanks for a while longer after hearing this news!

Ken mentioned at the Toronto show a couple of years ago he had a dozen sculpts for an entry into a late WWII Europe. Not much has been mentioned since.... outside of RAF range and some ww2 addons to existing series

Based on other WW2 items that I have purchased in the last few years, I am anxiously awaiting your announcements!

Just a heads up. If anyone is looking for some of the older WWII sets produced by Britains there is a large section of them available on the Treefrog site under the consignment section. Most of them I was not even aware existed. Check them out as it's pretty cool stuff.

My first two sets ever were Britain's Bren Gun Team. Still have it and still great sets.

Hi Ken

So is this the beginning of a major push into WWII? Including AFVs? Or a submarine - something like your dambusters set? ^&grin
