You guys have to check this out,

New WWII sets being previewed by Conte. KC may be the best in 1/30 but Conte does have a lot of personality in 1/32.

The new figures are entertaining and frankly I’ll be buying them when they’re out. Check out the guy with a Lewis Machine gun and the sets that are perfect complement to the previous Conte and KC paratrooper sets.

They’re kind a fun.

What do you guys think?

Carlos,

Thanks for bringing this preview to our attention. The Conte figures look really great! Now,...if I can only find a little more room in my toy soldier budget... :)

Warm regards,

Pat

Only problem for me is that Conte has a lot of prototype figures and lots of preview photos, but no supply of the product to sell. They DO have the recent metal sets, but the last time I contacted them they have no artwork ready for the plastic GIs and don't seem to be ready to have them available for sale anytime soon. On the good news - lots of time to save up. On the bad news - I'm dying to get my paint brushes on these plastic figures and put them in a bocage attack scene. The new scuplts look terrific!

I like the pulling in the chute concept. I think that's neat. However, the platoon doesn't do it for me, principally because the faces are so contorted. I like the idea, however, of action poses. I'd like to see that more in King and Country. Conte seems to go in for that more than K & C.

They have done a nice job, I wonder if this is Ken Osen's work?

Njja

NJJA, I talked to Ken Osen at last years OTSN, and if I remember right, he told me he had done 5 airborne figures for Conte, the rest of the new figures were done by Robert Ortiz, Contes current sculpter.
As Binder said, anyone who has followed Conte, as I have since his debut at 1999 OTSN, knows what a frustrating thing it is.
Loads of promises, with very little results. It doesn,t even phase me anymore when he post pictures of upcoming sets as I know they are probably a year away, especially his plastic stuff.
As a plastic collecter of certain stuff, I do have to say, Conte has produced the best plastic figures ever made. He is the K&C of plastic.

Gary:

I agree, he seems to have difficulty getting items to the marketplace, but

when they arrive a lot of them are terrific!

I love the Conte Church, Priory & courtyard, the Airborne troopers with

parachutes are brilliant.

The new Normandy Beachead items look 1st rate. I hope they reach the

marketplace soon.

Njja:)

I am still waiting for the promised reissue of the church and priory. I think its been about two years now.

Michael

I talked to Ken Osen at the Atlanta show last year, and he told me about

some of the difficulties associated with producing the large Conte Pieces.

I would be surprised if we see that great church again anytime soon.

Njja

Michael,

Call George at Minuteman, he might be able to get some Conte buildings including the priory. Plus he paints them very well too.

You're right Njja,

I'm not sure will see buildings like that mass produced for a while.

Those figures in the pictures look outstanding, simply superb. What animation; their sculptor is first rate. K & C is far and away my best selling range, with Conte second. For what it's worth, they told me D-Day six and seven will be back in stock soon. They also said the Omaha Beach playsets would be available before Christmas last year, so we'll see...............

My favorite set at the moment is «house cleaning, airborne style». It's just irresistible.

After checking everything out, my first dive was into Conte. Taking one with him was my first, I used it in a diorama I posted. House Cleaning, Hedgrow #1 and the John Wayne are on the way. Coming from that 1/35th mentality, this stuff looks good to me. King and Country next. Keep the info coming, I am learning a lot from you guys.....Thanks again......Alex
